Domestic Assault

On December 22nd, 2021 Aylmer Police entered into a domestic assault investigation that took place during the week of December 11th.   A 50 yr. old female disclosed an assault committed by her 48 yr old male spouse.   Investigation determined that the female suffered an assault as well as a sexual assault within the couple’s apartment.

Police were able to locate the 48 yr. old Aylmer male and took him into custody.  The male stands charged with one count of Sexual assault causing bodily harm.  The female had been treated at hospital for her injuries and released.

** Update** Porch Pirate Theft – Arrest made

On December 22nd 2021, Aylmer Police located the male wanted for this theft occurrence and took him into custody.  The 39 yr. old Aylmer male was held for a bail hearing scheduled for Dec 23rd.

On December 14th, 2021 police attended to a downtown condominium building, where the property manager was reporting the theft of an Amazon package and various pieces of mail.  Building CCTV video was reviewed and the suspect was identified by police as a 39 year old Aylmer male.  All items have been recovered and returned and police now hold a warrant for the arrest of the male.

Stunt Drive

December 23rd, 2021 at 11:50 am, an Aylmer officer on patrol was travelling on Glencolin Line, when a 2000 GMC Sierra was approaching at a high rate of speed.  The police cruiser mobile radar was activated and timed the motor vehicle travelling at 135 km/h within a posted 80 km/h zone.  A 17yr old male from St. Thomas was operating this motor vehicle and now stands charged with one count of Stunt Driving.   The male’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of 14 days.

Prohibited Driver 45 day impound

On December 26th, 2021, officer on patrol stopped at 2016 Nissan Versa on Talbot St, for a moving violation.  Investigation determined the 26 year old male driving the Nissan was currently prohibited from operating any motor vehicle due to previous conviction of impaired operation.  As a result the male was arrested and released with a January court date for Operation while prohibited.  The vehicle was subject to a 45 day impoundment.
