Theft of Motor Vehicle; Follow up

On 29th of October 2021, at approximately 8:30 pm., Aylmer Police received a complaint of a stolen vehicle from a residence on East St. Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that on 29th of October between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm., unknown persons attended the residence and stole a 2003 Chev Silverado Grey. The vehicle was locked and keys were not in the vehicle.

Follow up;

On 02 November 2021, at 1:56 pm., Aylmer Police received information from Chippewa Police Service advising that the stolen 2003 Chev Silverado was recovered on Munsee-Delaware first nation. Door locks and ignition was punched out. Police investigation is on-going and anyone with information is asked to call Aylmer Police or Crimestoppers at; 1-800-222-8477.

 Mischief under $5000.00

On 3rd of November 2021, at approximately 10:45 am., Aylmer Police attended at East Elgin    Secondary School for a report of Mischief to property incident. Police investigation revealed that a 15 year old male from Bayham destroyed a soap dispenser inside the school. As a result, he was charged with Mischief Under $5000.00.

Speeding results in license suspension;  

On the 3rd of November 2021 at 11:40 am., Aylmer Police officer was conducting radar enforcement on Talbot Street East near Dingle Street in the Town of Aylmer when he clocked in a 2021 Kia travelling at 98 km/hr. in posted 50 km/hr zone. As a result, 25 year old male from London was charged with; Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed. His license was suspended and vehicle impounded for 14 days.

Speeding results in license suspension;  

On the 3rd of November 2021 at 3:19 pm., Aylmer Police officer was conducting radar enforcement on Talbot Street East in the Town of Aylmer when he clocked in a 2013 Mazda 3 at 115 km/hr. in posted 50 km/hr zone. As a result, 21 year old male from Bayham was charged with; Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed. His license was suspended and vehicle impounded for 14 days.

 

Trespass by night;

On 3rd of November 2021, at approximately 11:51 pm., while on patrol, Aylmer Police observed two males and a female near a residence on Wellington St. Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that a 17 year old female from St. Thomas stole a bicycle from a residence on Wellington St. She was charged with theft under $5000.00 and Trespass by night. Further, 16 year old male from St. Thomas and an 18 year old male from St. Thomas were charged with Trespassing at night. Police recovered and returned a total of 3 bicycles that were taken from the residence on Wellington St.

Theft of Motor Vehicle;

On 4th of November 2021, at 2:34 pm., Aylmer Police attended at Goodwill motors on Talbot St. East Aylmer ON for a report of theft of motor vehicle. Police investigation revealed that sometime on the 27th of October 2021, between 11:44 and 11:59 am., 2 unknown males attended the lot and stole a yellow 2003 Chevrolet SSR convertible truck. Vehicle was locked and keys were not in the vehicle. Police investigation is on-going and anyone with information is asked to call Aylmer Police or Crimestoppers at; 1-800-222-8477.

3 youths charged with Causing a Disturbance by fighting;

On 5th of November 2021, Aylmer police received a report of an incident where 3 youths were engaged in a fight on St. Andrew St. near East Elgin Secondary School. Police investigation revealed that on 4th of November 2021, between 12:10 and 12:30 pm., three youths who attend EESS engaged in a fight. The disturbance was observed by a large crowd. As a result, 16 year old male from Malahide, 14 year old male from Port Burwell and 14 year old male from Straffordville were all charged with causing a disturbance.

Impaired Driving over 80 charge;

On the 5th of November 2021 at approximately 5:44 pm., Aylmer Police received a report of possible impaired driver on John St. Aylmer ON. Police located the vehicle travelling West Bound on Talbot St. and attempted to stop a 2015 Toyota Rav 4. The driver failed to stop and continued on to Holland Ave where officers performed a rolling block to stop the vehicle. Officer detected an odour of alcoholic beverage on driver’s breath and a roadside test resulted in a “fail” reading. Further tests at the station resulted in readings over the legal limit. Subsequently, a 73 year old male from Aylmer was charged with; Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

 

 

Impaired Driving over 80 charge;

On the 5th of November 2021 at approximately 11:47 pm., Aylmer officer observed a 2014 Toyota travelling on Talbot St. East Aylmer ON. Driver was observed to be “weaving side to side within the marked lane”. Officer stopped the vehicle and spoke to the female driver. Roadside test was performed resulting in a “fail” reading. Further tests at the station resulted in a reading over the legal limit. A 29 year old female from Milton was charged with; Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Motor Vehicle Collision;

On 6th of November 2021, at approximately 2:20 pm., Aylmer Police investigated a motor vehicle collision on John St. N. Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that a 2018 Jeep being driven by a 50 year old male from Aylmer was South Bound on John St. and stopped to turn into a private laneway. A 2014 Chev being driven by a 21 year old female from Straffordville was also South Bound on John St. Female rear ended the Jeep. Both Vehicles sustained Moderate damage. 21 year old female was charged with careless Driving.

Impaired Driving over 80 and speeding charge;

On 7th of November 2021 at 3:00 pm., Aylmer Police were conducting traffic enforcement on Talbot Street West Aylmer ON. At 3:16 pm., Police observed a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu travelling west on Talbot St East at a higher rate of speed. Officer stopped the motor vehicle and spoke to the driver who exhibited signs of impairment and had a strong odour of alcoholic beverage on his breath. A roadside test was administered resulting in a “fail” reading. Further tests at the station resulted in reading twice the legal limit. 65 year old male from Oakville was charged with; impaired driving, Drive over 80 mgs. And speeding.
