News release Jan 11th, Mishchief / Impaired’s, 3 day suspension

Mischief – Balmoral Park:

 

On 09 January 2021 at approximately 8:35 am. Police responded to a complaint of mischief at Balmoral Park off John St. Aylmer ON. Investigation revealed that unknown persons attended the park and damaged the Healing Garden Fountain. Aylmer Police will be conducting focused patrols throughout the evening and anyone caught damaging park property will be charged accordingly. RIDE check results in over 80 charge;

On Saturday January 9th, 2021, Police were conducting a R.I.D.E (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) on Elk Street at Victoria Street in the Town of Aylmer. The R.I.D.E commenced at 6:26 pm. At approximately 6:40 pm., a red 2017 Dodge Ram pick up truck was observed travelling westbound on Elk and approached the R.I.D.E program.  47-year-old male driver from Malahide was spoken to and a roadside demand was read to the driver. He provided a suitable roadside sample resulting in a “fail” reading. Further tests at the station revealed readings more then twice the legal limit. As a result, male was charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor.

Impaired driving:

On the 9th of January 2021 at approximately 9:31pm., officer on patrol came upon a 2008 Volkswagen in the ditch at Talbot Line and Heritage Line Malahide Township. 22-year-old male driver from Malahide was spoken to and exhibited signs of impairment. As a result, he was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and transported to the station where readings three times the legal limit were obtained. Male was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

3-day suspension:

On 9th of January 2021 at approximately 7:07 pm., officer on patrol stopped a 2018 Jeep on Clarence St. Aylmer ON., for a highway traffic act offence. Officer administered a roadside test resulting in a “warn” reading. As a result, 42-year-old male from Aylmer was issued a 3-day license suspension.
