News Release Sunday April 25th – Charges laid in relation to Church Gathering

Breach of Emergency Orders Investigation:

 

On Sunday, April 25th of April 2021 at 10:30 Am., in anticipation of breaches of the current Emergency Orders, Aylmer Police monitored the church service taking place on John St. North Aylmer ON.  A large number of participants attended the Church of God Restoration and entered the church for the service in violation of the current emergency orders.  Several persons of interest were identified and charges for violating the emergency orders are being processed.  Police communications centre received over a dozen complaints from the local residents reporting the breaches of Emergency Order.

 

At approximately 12:55 pm., a church participant began to interfere with an Aylmer officer in the execution of his duties. He was warned regarding obstruction and continued to interfere. As a result, the male a 20 year old from Perth East Township was arrested and later released on an Undertaking charged with Obstruct Police.

 

A second church participant charged towards a civilian reporter in an aggressive assaultive manner.  As a result, a 48-year-old male from Perth East Township was arrested for assault and later released on an Undertaking charged with assault.

 

A third church participant intentionally began to interfere with another Aylmer Officer and despite warnings regarding obstructing continued to interfere.  The female was later identified as a 52 year old female from Shakespeare.  An arrest warrant has been processed as she is wanted for one count of Obstruct Police.
