Theft/recovery of Motor Vehicle;

On 11th of March 2021, Aylmer police responded to a theft of a motor vehicle that occurred on Talbot St. East Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that sometime between 1;00 pm and 7:00 pm., on the 10th of March 2021 un-plated 2013 Chev Avalanche was stolen from the lot. Keys were in the vehicle at the time of the theft.

Recovery;

On 14th of March 2021 Vehicle was recovered in parking lot near Baker Auto Wrecker, River Rd London. Investigation is on going and anyone with information is asked to call Aylmer Police at 519-773-3146 or Crimestoppers at; 1-800-222-8477.

Break and Enter- business;

On 12th of March 2021 Aylmer Police responded to a Break and Enter at a business on Talbot St. West Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that sometime overnight (11Mar21 – 12Mar2021) U/K suspect(s) smashed showroom man door entrance of Arrow Tire. Culprit then crawled through opening, gained entry, and smashed a glass interior door leading to an office. Nothing appeared to have been taken. Media Release March 1st, Sexual Assault, MVC, Suspend driver with cannabis

Sexual Assault;

On 23rd of February 2021 at approximately 7:23 pm., Aylmer Police investigated a historic sexual assault incident that occurred in the Town of Aylmer ON. Investigation revealed that on 24th of October 2019, a 20-year-old female was at her residence and in a company of a male that she was dating. A verbal agreement ensued and the victim directed the male to leave the residence. He refused and proceeded to choke and sexually assault the victim. As a result, 21-year-old male from St. Thomas has been charged with; Overcome Resistance by Attempting to Choke, Suffocate or Strangle another Person and sexual assault.

Motor Vehicle Collision;

On Thursday, February 25th, 2021, at approximately 6:30 pm., Aylmer Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Talbot St. West Aylmer ON. Investigation revealed that a 2021 Chev Silverado being operated by a 37-year-old male from Straffordville was East Bound on Talbot St. West. A 2020 Chev Silverado being operated by a 42-year-old male from Springfiled was stopped facing East Bound on Talbot St. West. Driver of the 2021 Chev failed to stop and rear-ended the 2020 Chev. As a result, he was charged with careless driving. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage to the rear and front ends.

Traffic stop results in Cannabis and drive under suspension charge;

On the 28th of February 2021 at approximately 2:10 pm., officer on patrol stopped a 2005 Dodge on Talbot St. West Aylmer ON. Officer spoke to the driver and determined that he was a suspended driver. As the officer spoke to the driver, he noticed a strong odour of burning marijuana inside the vehicle that resulted in location of quantity of cannabis on driver’s person. As a result, 59-year-old male from Manitoba has been charged with driving while under suspension and having care and control of a motor vehicle or vessel with cannabis readily available.
