Suspended Driver

On the 18th of October 2021, at 3:50 pm, officer on patrol conducted a query of a plate on a motor vehicle travelling on Talbot St W, which indicated that the registered owner was currently suspended from driving.  A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was in fact the registered owner and his licence was confirmed to be under suspension for unpaid fines.   A 17yr old male from Aylmer has been charged with Driving while suspended.  The male was issued with a court summons to appear in St. Thomas Provincial Offences court later in December 2021.

Suspended Driver

On the 19^th of October 2021, at 6:37 pm, officer on patrol conducted a query of a plate on a motor vehicle on John St N., which indicated that the registered owner was currently suspended from driving.  A traffic stop was initiated, the driver was confirmed to be the owner of the vehicle and licence status was confirmed to be under suspension for unpaid fines.  The driver, a 21 year old Malahide male has been charged with Driving while suspended.  The male was issued with a court summons to appear in St. Thomas Provincial Offences court later in December 2021.

Arrest Warrant

On the 20^th of October 2021, at 8:00 pm, officers on patrol observed a 31 year old Aylmer male, who was currently wanted on a Bench Warrant held by Aylmer Police.  The warrant was in relation a threatening investigation from March of 2021.  The male had failed to appear in court previously which resulted in the Bench Warrant being issued.  The male was later released from custody with a new court date.

Bail Violations

On the 23^rd of October 2021, at 01:56 am, Aylmer police were dispatched to a residence for a report that a currently charged person was at the residence in breach of release conditions.  Officers attended, and located the suspect hiding in a shed in the rear yard.  A 31 year old female from Delhi was taken into custody and transported to the police station.  Investigation determined that the female was arrested on July 26^th 2021 for domestic assault.  At that time she was released before the courts with conditions not to attend the victim’s residence, nor have any communication.  On the 17^th of August this same female was arrested by Aylmer Police for being breach of her release conditions.  She was released on a further undertaking to abide by the same conditions.  As a result of the previous arrests and release the female was held in custody for a bail hearing scheduled in St. Thomas.

Warrant Arrest

On the 23^rd of October 2021, at 08:39 am, member of the Middlesex OPP contacted Aylmer Police to report they currently had a 31 yr. old male of no fixed address in custody for an arrest warrant that was held by Aylmer Police.  The warrant was in relation to this male being charged in 2019 with Assault Police, resist arrest, and mischief.  The male had failed to attend a scheduled court appearance Oct 5^th which led to the warrant being issued.  The warrant was endorsed to allow for the release of the male.  He is now scheduled to appear on November in St. Thomas court.

Suspended Driver / Vehicle Impound

On the 24^th of October 2021, at 3:00 pm, officers on patrol noticed a licence plate on a motor vehicle that was displaying a Temporary validation sticker.  Further query indicated that the driver of the vehicle was currently suspended from driving. A 20 yr. old male from Eden was issued with a court summons to appear in St. Thomas Provincial Offences Court, later in December.  The vehicle was subjected to a 7 day impound.

Impaired Driver / Assault Police / CEW deployment

On the 24^th of October 2021, at 9:56 pm, Aylmer Police were receiving numerous complaints from citizens about a possible impaired driver in a Chevrolet Cavalier.  Officers attended the area of Sydenham Street, where witnessed have followed the vehicle to.  Police did located the vehicle in question and the male driver.  The male was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and when police attempted to handcuff the male a fight broke out resulting in an officer deploying his conducted energy weapon (CEW).  With the use of the CEW a 49 yr. old Aylmer male was taken into custody and transported to the police station for breath tests.  The male’s blood alcohol concentration registered at 3.5 times the legal limit of 80 mgs of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.   The male was later released from custody and stands charged with Impaired Operation – Operation in excess of 80 mgs, and Assault Police.  Further to the criminal charges his drivers licence was immediately suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle has been impounded.

100 % Compliance with Vaccination

Over the past few weeks Aylmer Police have been drafting the Aylmer Police Service COVID-19 policy for the workplace.  The first phase of the policy which required all employees to disclose their vaccination status has been completed.

Results of this first phase determined that all Aylmer Police Services sworn police officers, civilian staff, special constable, and auxiliary members are 100 % fully vaccinated.
